Most recently I worked on the European eParticipation study with Ann Macintosh and other partners in Denmark and Greece, funded by the European Commission. For further details see our project website My research interests cut across geography, sociology, political science and communication studies: - e-democracy and e-participation; - interrelationships between new and old media; - interrelationships between virtual and physical communities; - questions of digital and social inclusion/exclusion; - urbanisation, urban and rural space; - e-health and the use of the Internet for health promotion; - public participation in strategic planning and decision-making; - local and regional governance - institutions and identities; - European governance and identity; - social, political and spatial transformation in Central and Eastern Europe; - Czech, Slovak, French society and culture.
