Research Groups

Research Groups represent the main areas of research at ICS. These areas are broadly defined and provide a forum for discussion and collaboration for research-active staff and PhD students, but also for non-research contracted staff who wish to get involved in research activities. They are living structures and are expected to engage in a certain range of activities, as outlined below.

Research Groups are light-touch structures to keep the organisational workload to a minimum. It is up to the Research Groups to decide how to organise themselves, but their main purpose is to support and integrate research active staff and research students. They engage in a broad range of activities, but the two key functions are:
